THE MAGIC LANTERN
The predecessor to the movies, the magic lantern (historic projector)
has been around for over 350 years.  After 1800, lanterns were made for 
homes, for use by children and families.  This presentation is very popular
at Christmas time.  Slides date from the late 19th century.  The lantern is circa 1879.
